Monday Message – June 6, 2022

Worship this week: It’s Trinity Sunday in the church year and we are focusing on the new purpose statement of the United Church of Canada: “Called by God, as disciples of Jesus, The United Church of Canada seeks to be a bold, connected, evolving church of diverse, courageous, hope-filled communities united in deep spirituality, inspiring worship, and daring justice.”

Byron Hermann is going to share a bit about his spirituality, I am going to reflect on the discipleship and justice pieces.

Here are a few pictures from the prayer painting last Sunday and the beautiful finished product! And one of the choir. It was so great to see so many of you in Pentecost colours and I love all the visuals that Janet, Gail and Wendy created, they are an amazing team!

This week! It’s Monday evening already!

I’m preparing three bulletins this week, and have been working on the summer ones. It’s amazing how fast the summer months are approaching.

I met with the Ministry and Personnel Committee this afternoon to review some of their responsibilities with them, and express appreciation or them taking on this important role.

There’s the regular Worship Committee meeting and the Executive meets Tuesday evening for the last time until September. Wednesday is Food Bank, a meeting with Jim and Sandra to review the Financial Analysis Report created by Stewardship expert in our region. I’m connecting with another Intentional Interim Minister to brainstorm a couple of ideas, meeting with Sandra to plan a service that celebrates the UCW and attend the UCW supper! Sometime in between all the scheduled things, I answer email and make phone calls, I create promo material, send cards.

Saturday I’m leading a session on Beginnings and Endings for the United Church students who are entering their final year of the distance program.

I’m on Study Leave next week, I leave on Sunday afternoon to participate in a program at the Tatamagouche Centre on Building Respectful Relationships, the Rev. Wendy Kean is leading worship in my absence. The following week, I am going to Paris… Ontario to be trained as a United Fresh Start Facilitator at the Five Oaks Retreat Centre. I’ll be back for Sunday that week though!

I’ll be taking my usual ‘Tech Sabbath’ on Friday. As always, you can reach me by phone @ 902-483-1422 in an emergency.

We love to hear from our readers!
