Robyn had a sad yesterday… so he wanted to sit with a friend during worship instead of hangout on his branch. Sandra filled that roll well!
It’s the Victoria Day weekend; usually the start of camping season and opening up cottages. Garden centres are usually extremely busy, but it’s chilly out there, at least here in Eastern Passage. I did plant one of my raised beds on Saturday and may plant another one today, but it feels more like curl up under a blanket with a good book sort of day! Is God calling me outside or inside today. Or do I have to choose? Could I do both? What’s God calling you to do or be today?
This weekend is the Annual Regional Meeting; it’s on-line once again this year, starts Friday evening, goes all day Saturday, so I’ll be parked in from of my computer for most of two days, and then the Celebration of Ministry service takes place on Sunday afternoon at Bedford United Church. I’ll still be available for pastoral emergencies, but won’t be in church on Sunday.
Rev. Renee Clark, Spiritual Care Coordinator at Northwood, is leading worship this week. The title of her sermon is Thrillers, Fillers and Spillers. She is using the text 2 Corinthians 4:1-15 and she gave me a sneak preview of her thoughts and you are in for a treat!
This week! On Tuesday, I’ve got a meeting of the Association of United Church Clergy, Worship Committee Meeting, a Future Directions Committee Meeting. I’m leading a discussion on evangelism on at the Future Directions Committee! Then later in the week is Food Bank, the Covid Team is meeting, a couple of lunch meetings, a Pastoral Care Team Meeting (plus the prep for that) and then a United Churches for Dartmouth meeting.
No tech sabbath on Friday due to the annual regional meeting.
